Time Line of my Interest in Computers and the Internet
c. 1956 * led a freshman high school science club trip on a tour of the new UNIVAC installation at the Franklin Institute of Philadelphia [Pennsylvania, USA] -- I am the one on the left with the bow tie

* while studying at the Universidad de La Laguna in Tenerife [Canary Islands, Spain], I worked with their UNIVAC system using FORTRAN and many stacks of punch cards to statistically analyze climate data according to indices of solar activity in the 2800 MHz range [as well as other parameters related to fossils], later publishing several scientific papers on the subjects of fossils, climate and burrowing insects
* when I returned to the United States following many years of studying and teaching abroad, I established the Wanaisa Ministry, in Trenton, New Jersey [USA], a non denominational non profit religious entity with a vision of using it as an umbrella group for any future Internet activity in the form of domains and their content
* I was an Engineering and Scientific (FORTRAN) Data Processing Programmer Trainee [New Jersey State Civil Service appointment], New Jersey Department of Transportation, Trenton, New Jersey [USA]
* acquired my first Apple computer with a 9" black and white screen, floppy drive and tape backup drive, the Macintosh M001
* acquired a Power Mac 6100 / 60 AV with a long term vision to host a personal informational domain reflecting my eclectic interests. The modem speed was 28,800 bps, an improvement over the earlier 8,000 - 16,000 bps

* acquired a UMAX S910 [Macintosh System OS8 -- the last Mac clone] with internal ZIP Drive, US ROBOTICS Sportster 56k (x2) modem, 15" NOKIA 449Xa monitor because I was becoming more serious about establishing a web portal which I had been preparing for over the previous year. I registered Kardas.net and within about two weeks, had a very simplistic web site on the WWW, using Adobe Page Mill as the site creation application [I still use the same app because it is simplistic and easy to use]

* many new sections were added to Kardas.net and I started making long range plans to register other domains to handle selected topics. I established La Atlántida Internet Services to provide help in finding / registering / developing domains for personal or business use. I received several award for web site creation, among which are the following

* registered La Atlantida.net,
* registered my third main domain, AppleBytes.info, which provides information about computers and the Apple Mac
* registered Libro.ws for my book and autograph stash, the web site you are now viewing, and had it online in four days, although in a somewhat different simplistic format unlike what you see today. Many files from Kardas.net were transferred here, allowing me more web space to further develop my primary domain --
and iToyz.net for toys, teddy bears and other related collectibles
* registered Wanaisa.org, the umbrella group for all of my web activity
* acquired the first iMac G5, to replace the last eMac model produced -- eMac on left

* I changed servers / virtual hosts for Kardas.net, LaAtlantida.net and Libro.ws in April, and shall probably do the same for Applebytes.info and iToyz.net before the end of the year. Much reformatting has yet to be done on most of my web pages
