Book

This Antiquarian LONG OUT OF PRINT auction catalogue lists and describes 186 Lots, ALL of which appear to be amply illustrated, of a very unusual millennial collection of rare glass including Archaeological Finds from the Mediterranean and Middle East, and Early American Wares!

The items include -- Ancient [from c 1000 BC to 10th century AD] -- amphoriskos, bottles, flasks, balsamarium, vials -- Antique American [from the mid 1700s to about 1870] -- portrait / historical / figural flasks, creamers, open salts, pitchers, vases, bitters / medicine / peppersauce bottles, witch balls, among OTHERS!

Countries - cultures of origin [for archaeological examples] -- Greek, Hellenistic, Roman, Sidonian (Phoenicia), Syro-Palestinian, Israel, Middle East / American makers include -- Kensington / Philadelphia, Baltimore / Maryland, Pittsburgh / Pennsylvania, Kentucky / Louisville, southern New Jersey, Sandwich / Massachusetts, and MORE!

WOWSERS! Evelio and I loved to collect glass, ancient and newer; some may appear before the holidays right here among my listings -- and, quite frankly, I was very surprised to find that the first 74 items in this unusual catalog were examples of ancient glass of all kinds -- I guess I should have paid closer attention to the auction title, Glass of the Millennia! Add to that the variety of early flasks from makers on the east coast, many from New Jersey, and the wide assortment of witch balls in many colors, makes this reference a treasure trove of useful historical information.

I can guarantee you that you will surely find MANY NEW items to include in your personal computer interactive relational database of these vintage glass treasures, both in yummy color photos and item details!
