In an attempt to make my eBay item descriptions somewhat more visually presented, and for use on other web pages, I have been busy creating a scanned collection of thumbnails starting in February 2004 -- each is 1" wide at the top (there may be several exceptions when I found it necessary to include a larger version), of some basic types and examples of item content which I frequently list -- in mid-October 2004 I made the first major revision to my usual banner / description format since 1996, and also widened the description page to 750 pixels instead of the 700 which I had been using for the last 2 years (this text space is 750 pixels wide -- the following table of thumbnails is 700 pixels wide) -- and to think that I started out with a width of 450 pixels in 1996, but monitors were a lot smaller then! In part 1 you will find logos representing archaeological themes, artifacts from the cultures of Africa, Egypt, Greece, Rome, pre-Columbian excavations, Asia, and the indigenous inhabitants of North America -- at the end of each section I have included corresponding animated gifs. Most of these logos are in jpeg format -- all have my own file code name for general areas of interest, while some others have file names which indicate a specific maker or subject, just to remind me what they represent. At the present time there are approximately 900 images in the collection, not equally distributed among the 7 pages -- I have spent several hundred hours thus far scanning and processing the pics. In early 2005 I hope to have all of these Logo Collection pages on a CD or DVD, and shall offer it for sale at about $18US, including shipping in the USA -- slightly more expensive if mailed to foreign countries. This makes it a lot easier to find something you might be interested in using while working offline. Unlike the graphical and/or textual material on any on my servers / domains, I am allowing these images to be used as FREEWARE, with the usual stipulations -- basically what that means is that you may use them for your own non-commercial personal use, including, but not limited to, storage on your personal computer/s, used on your personal web pages, in blogs, emails and similar Internet activities, IF and ONLY IF they are stored on your own computer/s or server/s and NOT hot linked to mine -- no license necessary. Written hardcopy official snail mail permission may be granted for other purposes at my discretion, and always with a note and link as to the source -- many have requested said permission over the years and most have been granted. It is absolutely prohibited to use any or all of this Logo Collection in your own commercial applications including, but not limited to, textbooks, eBooks, lectures, schools, classroom handouts, business meetings, mirror web sites -- whether as web files, in hard copy print outs or on recordable media of any kind. If you have a question, do not hesitate to ask. As inspiration and time permits, I shall be adding more images to these categories -- I started out with a single page, and now have developed 7 of them to make the task and its organization more manageable!
