About This European Antiquarian
Book |
This exceptional OUT OF PRINT European auction catalogue lists and describes 272 lots, ALL of which appear to be illustrated in wonderful colour, of a fabulous vintage wonderland of Dolls, Doll Houses, Automata, Games and other Toys ! Included you will find -- vintage male and female dolls (ceramic, bisque, celluloid, wax, felt, etc.), a fantastic selection of doll houses, furniture and other accessories, automatons, half dolls, miniature ceramic and glass, action figures, celluloid Penny Toys, Christmas decorations, and MORE!
Makers include -- those in the header and -- Heinrich Handwerck, S. F. B. J., Francois Gaultier, Dean's, Farnell, Schoenhut, Evans and Cartwright, Sonnenberg, among MANY others!
WOWSERS! When Evelio and I had our antique gallery open 10+ years ago, there were many shelves reaching almost to the ceiling and display cases filled with vintage games, dolls, Teddy Bears, trains and accessories, mechanical cars and other toys, some that I acquired during my many years studying and teaching in Europe -- we had repeat customers from the New York area who later REsold them in their upscale shops. Some still remain -- I may list a few at online auction if and when the spirit moves me. This is what a very small part of the gallery looked like some years after it closed.
I have rarely seen so many doll houses and accessories -- and all in gorgeous colour! If you are organized in your attempts to study these wonderful playthings, this is a prima source to add to your reference library to help you update your personal computer interactive relational database -- and it is a piece of cake to burn a CD/DVD with all your data, including pics, to have instant access to your 1000s of individual information files and pics (just as I present a few in my long winded item descriptions) -- and you can even share them with your friends! When you see these vintage toys at your local flea market, estate / country auction / yard sale, you may be the only one who knows what they are and their recent value.
