My

Quickie

Book

Format

In my early teens, almost every weekend I would take the bus and El to center city, Philadelphia, to go to one or two science museums and have lunch on the rooftop dining area of the main branch of the public library, founded by Benjamin Franklin, on Logan Square -- while there I frequently stopped at Leary's Book Store, spending hours fishing through the endless stacks of vintage smelling books, not knowing at the time that it was very famous throughout the world!

I recently found a bookmark from those distant days -- -- and on the other side was a calendar -- -- for the year when I was 16! Leary's no longer exists, but my memories are almost as fresh now as they were then -- I never lost that early interest in reading and hording reference tomes, and it is now time to pass my things to newer generations of book hounds / collectors / connoisseurs. If you are a really enterprising peep, you can even acquire virtually my entire library, minus the selected things I still hope to use in my scientific research -- bring: cash ($ / Euros -- think upper five figures here) or Kruggerrands, a large truck, boxes galore, and expect to spend a few days loading up -- no picking, no haggling, no bull shit -- you take everything or nothing! Do not waste my time or yours -- at extra cost, you may even acquire the real estate and large unused shop all the antiques, collectibles and books are located in (when Evelio was alive, it was open and prospered)!

Evelio and I were also always on the prowl in the most out of the way book shops, estate sales, auctions in New York and in Europe, looking for things which interested us -- I have tons of single-copy vintage books that I would like to offer my happy bidders / buyers -- each and every one of them is specialized in a particular subject, usually very hard to find, and in generally excellent to very good condition, simply because I do not have junk in my personal library.

To try to churn out more item listings I shall abbreviate my usual long-winded item descriptions and take digital photographs and/or scans of the cover/dust jacket, title page, index page and perhaps some text which tells something about the book.

My lighting conditions are far from ideal and I do not have a tripod, so when text pages are photographed they turn out exceptionally ratty, much less crisp because the camera is hand-held, and tinged in some weird color due to artificial lighting rather than white-ish as they actually appear -- some paper stocks photograph better than others. I may use a filter application or two to lighten and/or otherwise try to enhance the text image simply for readability purposes -- unless I explicitly state in the description that the pages are really yellowed, stained or whatever, you may assume that they have a normal aspect for the age and paper type of the corresponding book.

I am very thorough in describing any defects which I am able to observe, and since I am not an antiquarian book dealer, my terminology is totally my own. This book is from my own personal research library, and is sold as described, notwithstanding any errors and/or overlooked omissions which rarely creep into my item descriptions, but may be possible, primarily due to lack of sleep and diminished mental alertness -- all sales are final.

Feel free to email me with general questions about this book, and I shall get back to you as time permits.

Thank you for your interest in this item, and I hope that you may find some other things among my online treasures that you are missing in your own reference library -- you may never find it / them again, and certainly NOT at my usual low prices! Hey, and don't just put it on your watch list, which is one of the dumbest things some online web sites ever invented! -- been there, done that -- an item may be on my watch list, but I do not keep track of that stupid list -- when I like an item I place a bid on it immediately, and have it on my easier to find bidder list, the link for which I do check every day or so via the direct link I keep on my desktop -- no signing in necessary unless I have to bid higher!

How

To

Pay

- I DO NOT accept PayPal payments!

Personal checks are ALWAYS welcome from my winning bidders located in the United States.

* * NON-USA BIDDERS PLEASE NOTE * * I accept International Money Order payments -- (ONLY in $us) for items won by bidders in other countries.

-- You may also send cash, either in $us or EUROS, but it is not the safest method -- please note that, due to bank exchange costs, CASH in EUROS would be equivalent 1:1 with the nominal $us value)

How

I

Ship

I ONLY ship using U.S.Postal Service PRIORITY mail, with Delivery Confirmation / Tracking, (smaller and lighter items would be about $5.97 -- rates vary according to distance / Postal Zone) -- this price includes packing / handling, which would be MORE for delicate items.

Depending on the final winning bid, buyer may wish INSURANCE, which would be EXTRA, and this is SUGGESTED as I am logically NOT responsible for items once they are sent at the Post Office.

- MULTIPLE ITEM winners USUALLY save on shipping!! If your wins over a week weigh 8 or more pounds (= 3.6 kilos), they may be sent MEDIA MAIL [USA only] which is cheaper -- I determine this on a case by case basis.

-- NON USA winners please note -- Foreign Priority shipping costs MORE, and is available to MOST countries -- remember that MULTIPLE ITEM WINS USUALLY save you money on shipping. To MOST European and other overseas countries = $us13.35 / to our nearby neighbors in Mexico - - and Canada - - = $us11.35

-- some countries may not NOT have USPS Priority available -- it can be VERY expensive to send something via air mail, and surface mail no longer exists as an option -- please bid / buy accordingly

I always ship from -- -- New Jersey (NJ - USA)

GOOD LUCK IN YOUR BIDDING -- GOD BLESS!

Para mis pujadores del Exterior

Acepto $us giro postal (o $us o EUROS en efectivo por carta, pero NO es lo más seguro -- debido al cambio, EN EFECTIVO en EUROS equivale a 1:1 con el valor nominativo del $us) -- el envio es por el servicio de Correos PRIORITY [si hay para tu pais] que te vale $us13.35 -- tomes en cuenta que normalmente caben 2 o más libros dentro del sobre especial (según su espesor / peso), así que podrías ahorrar mucha pasta ganando varios, normalmente.

- NO ACEPTO PayPal.

¡Tranquilo! NO te voy a cobrar por mis comisiones de eBay!

GRACIAS POR MIRAR MIS OFERTAS Y BUENA SUERTE
